a love letter from my dad to my mom
I saw this today when I was trying to clean up and organize around the house. It was so sweet, so I thought I’d show you guys ;) SHHHH!!
December 16, 2011 (my mom’s birthday xD)
親愛的舜碧:
Unlike some people, I feel that God has done a terrific job creating you—my sweetheart, my Eve! You’re the best thing that has ever happened to me on this earth!
So many times I would relive those days when we were writing and phoning each other; when me and Mom went to the Philippines to meet you and your relatives for the FIRST time; when you and I got engaged and dated each other in various places (nice ones) there in Manila; and when I got back to Canada trying to finish my thesis but could not due to severe love-sickness and so I wrote those shocking REAL love letters to you, which you read over and over….
Even now, after 12 years, after having three wonderful girls, you’re still so beautiful. You’re still my Eve, my best friend!!
I thank God often for you! I’m still crazy about you—it’s God’s miracle. Thank you for marrying me! You’re the best and most wonderful creation God has made for me. I love you very much. May God abundantly bless the day you were born; may He cause you to enter into the Promised Land by having His Spirit taking you through the Jordan River! He’ll do it! I just know that. Happy Birthday, Honey!

Marriage From A Kid’s Perspective
1. HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHOM TO MARRY?
You got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like
sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep
the chips and dip coming.
— Alan, age 10No person really decides before they grow up who they’re going to
marry. God decides it all way before, and you get to find out later who
you’re stuck with.– Kristen, age 102. WHAT IS THE RIGHT AGE TO GET MARRIED?
Twenty-three is the best age because you know the person FOREVER by then.
— Camille, age 10
3. HOW CAN A STRANGER TELL IF TWO PEOPLE ARE MARRIED?You might have to guess, based on whether they seem to be yelling at
the same kids.
— Derrick, age 84. WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR MOM AND DAD HAVE IN COMMON
Both don’t want any more kids.
– Lori, age 85. WHAT DO MOST PEOPLE DO ON A DATE?
-Dates are for having fun, and people should use them to get to know
each other. Even boys have something to say if you listen long enough.
— Lynnette, age 8-On the first date, they just tell each other lies and that usually
gets them interested enough to go for a second date.
— Martin, age 10
6. WHEN IS IT OKAY TO KISS SOMEONE?
-When they’re rich.
— Pam, age 7The law says you have to be eighteen, so I wouldn’t want to mess with
that.
– - Curt, age 7-The rule goes like this: If you kiss someone, then you should marry
them and have kids with them. It’s the right thing to do.
– - Howard, age 8
7. IS IT BETTER TO BE SINGLE OR MARRIED?
It’s better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone
to clean up after them.
— Anita, age 98. HOW WOULD THE WORLD BE DIFFERENT IF PEOPLE DIDN’T GET MARRIED?
There sure would be a lot of kids to explain, wouldn’t there?
— Kelvin, age 8And the #1 Favorite is…
9. HOW WOULD YOU MAKE A MARRIAGE WORK?
Tell your wife that she looks pretty, even if she looks like a dump
truck.
— Ricky, age 10, way to go Ricky
lemons
people say: when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade.
have you ever thought about how difficult that is??
News of a major disappointment hit me today. Up till the moment I was told, I was hoping my hardest that it was NOT gonna happen, even though I had the feeling that it was coming. When the message was sent to me in black and white, I felt like everything, with me in it, was getting flushed into a giant toilet of disappointment. My heart sank, and I mean REALLY S-A-N-K, and I almost felt like crying. For 2 weeks, I have been SO excited and anticipating this soo much, and now, within 3 seconds, it ain’t gonna happen anymore. The best part about this is that it was either 1 day at my church camp, or a 30 year parent’s anniversary celebration. The choice was obvious, but still I was so disappointed. I understand that it is necessary, but still, I wish…. Yeah, I know I’m selfish, this is really no biggie, but I still unintentionally made my friend feel really bad just cause I was so disappointed.
biggest disappointment in a while… so in my perspective, i’ll call it a tonne of lemons. now how do i turn these lemons into lemonade??
here’s a thought, how about stop squeezing them into my eyes? LOL jk
anyhow, instead of dwelling on the sour, i should become motivated by this to work with the lemons, and see what refreshing products i’ll get by adding and making changes to it!
so instead of telling myself that camp is gonna suck, and I won’t have any fun, i’m gonna go, have fun, and make it fun and refreshing for others as well!
sounds like a plan! :) God give me strength! *aaaahhhh*
